

Leading west from Idaho Springs Colorado is the Mt. Evans Scenic Byway, road that travels to the summit of 14,265 foot peak. On the first trip I made to try to drive to the summit, I found the road closed and the summit unavailable, but some beautiful scenery still along the way.
These pictures were taken on August 12, 2003. The road offered great scenery and wildlife viewing. These bighorn sheep practically posed for me.
On July 27, 2005, I reached the summit of Mt. Evans for the first time on a sunny day. I also had a unique opportunity to photograph some mountain goats. Here's the result:
