A few miles south of the Wyoming border, in the Pawnee National Grasslands, lies a hidden treasure: Pawnee Buttes. I lived only 60 miles from here for six years, and never knew of its existence. And yet I found dozens of web sites about this place. I guess everyone knew about it but me.

There is a two mile (one way) trail to walk to get to the buttes. More walking to go around or on top. Access to the top is restricted during nesting season. It is a very beautiful (and quiet) place.
